The Indian Navy’s Missile Corvette INS Prabal on Friday destroyed an old decommissioned Godavari class frigate during a naval drill in the Arabian sea. An anti-ship missile (AShM) launched by INS Prabal and with impeccable accuracy destroyed the frigate.

NAG, Anti Tank Guided Missile, Successfully Clears Final User Trial (Watch Video)
The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on Thursday successfully completed the final user trial of third generation Anti Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) NAG. The trial was conducted at 6:45 am rom Pokhran range. According to the DRDO, The missile was integrated with the actual warhead and a tank target was kept at designated range.

The first commissioned women officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander (Retd) Dr Vijayalakshmi Ramanan died on Wednesday. She was 96 years old. Wing Commander Vijayalakshmi Ramanan died due to old age ailments. She was a recipient of Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).
INS Kavaratti, Indigenously-Built Anti-Submarine Warfare Stealth Corvette, To Be Commissioned Into Indian Navy Today
INS Kavaratti, the last of four indigenously-built Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) stealth corvettes, will be commissioned into the Indian Navy on Thursday, i.e. October 22. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Mukund Naravane will commission the stealth corvette at Naval Dockyard in Vishakhapatnam.

India on Wednesday handed back the detained People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldier to China. According to reports, the soldier was questioned by Chinese officials before he was sent back. Notably, the soldier had inadvertently crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC) Chumar-Demchok area of Ladakh sector on Monday. He was apprehended by the Indian Army.

A Chinese soldiers was held by Indian security forces in Chumar-Demchok area of Ladakh on Monday. According to reports, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldier may have inadvertently crossed the Line of Actual (LAC). The Chinese soldier have been identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long. He was strayed across the LAC.
BrahMos, Supersonic Cruise Missile, Successfully Test-Fired From Indian Navy’s Stealth Destroyer INS Chennai
India on Monday successfully test-fire BrahMos, the supersonic cruise missile, from Indian Navy’s indigenously-built stealth destroyer INS Chennai. BrahMos hit a target in the Arabian Sea during the test-firing. The missile hit the target successfully with pin-point accuracy after performing high-level and extremely complex manoeuvres.

Lt Gen PGK Menon will take charge as the new Commander of the Indian Army’s Leh-based 14 Corps, also known as Fireand Fury Corps, from mid October. Meanwhile, incumbent commander of the XIV corps Lt Gen Harinder Singh will be new commandant of the prestigiois Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. Notably, Leh-based XIV Corps is responsible to look after norther border of India with Pakistan and China.
