The 19th edition of the Indian and French Navy bilateral exercise ‘VARUNA-2021’ is scheduled to be conducted in the Arabian Sea from April 25 to 27, 2021. From the Indian Navy’s side, guided missile stealth destroyer INS Kolkata, guided missile frigates INS Tarkash and INS Talwar, Fleet Support Ship INS Deepak, with Seaking 42B and Chetak integral helicopters will participate in the exercise.

India is observing the 107th birth anniversary of Indian Army’s first Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw. Field Marshal Manekshaw was the brain behind India’s victory against Pakistan in 1971. He was the eighth Chief of Army Staff of India. Manekshaw was born in a Parsi family on April 3, 1914, to Hormizd Manekshaw and Hilla Mehta, in Amritsar.
