PM Modi Expresses happiness as Indian Navy Carries Out Landing of LCA Tejas On INS Vikrant, Lauds Efforts Towards ‘Atmanirbharta’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday applauded the Indian Naval pilots for carrying out the landing of LCA Tejas (Navy) on the indigenously-developed aircraft INS Vikrant. PM Modi, while responding to a tweet by the Indian Navy on the landing of the aircraft on INS Vikrant, said that the efforts for achieving self-reliance are on full swing.

In a boost to “Atamanirbhar Bharat”, Indian Naval pilots on Monday performed the landing and takeoff of LCA Tejas (Navy) and Mig-29K onboard the aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. It is for the first time that fighter jets have operated from INS Vikrant.

Union Budget 2023: Rs 5.94 Lakh Crore Allocated To Defence Ministry, 13% increase as compared to previous year

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday presented the Union Budget 2023 in Parliament. This year, defence allocations grew by 12.9 percent as compared to the previous financial year. The budgetary allocation for defence for FY 2023–24 is Rs 5.93 lakh crore. Meanwhile, last year, it was Rs 5.25 lakh crore.
