The Defence Ministry on Monday signed a contract Mahindra Defence Systems Ltd (MDSL) to acquire 1,300 light combat vehicles for the Indian Army at a cost of Rs 1,056 crore. As per the deal, the MDSL will provide these vehicles to the Indian Army over the period of next four years.
The Defence Acquisition Council (ADC) led by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on April 27, approved capital acquisition proposals of over Rs 3,687 crore.
