INS Nistar, the first indigenously designed and constructed Diving Support Vessel, was commissioned into the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam on Friday, July 18, 2025. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, other naval officials and distinguished civil dignitaries attended the commissioning ceremony.

INS Nistar: Indian Navy To Commission First Indigenous Diving Support Vessel On July 18
Indian Navy is all set to commission the first of the class Diving Support Vessel (DSV) Nistar at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam on July 18, 2025, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The event marks the formal induction of the ship which has been indigenously designed and constructed by M/s Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Visakhapatnam.
