Operation Sindoor: Over 100 Terrorist Eliminated in India’s Precision Strikes In Pakistan & PoK, 35-40 Pak Soldiers Killed In Retaliatory Action On LoC, Says Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai

New Delhi: A tri-services press briefing attended by top military brass on Sunday revealed that around 100 terrorists were killed in Operation Sindoor. The press conference was held by Director General of Military Operations (DGMA) Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Air Marshal AK Bharti and Vice Admiral AN Pramod.

During the press briefing, DGMO LT Gen Ghai said that over 100 terrorists, including those involved in the 1999 Indian Airlines flight (IC-814) hijacking and the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, were killed in Operation Sindoor by the Indian Armed Forces in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). He further added that the operation was launched with an aim to “punish the perpetrators and planners of the Pahalgam terror attack.” The DGMO also revealed that around 40 Pakistani soldiers were killed in India’s retaliatory actions along the Line of Control between May 7 and 10.

“Operation Sindoor was conceptualised with a clear military aim to punish the perpetrators and planners of terror and to destroy their terror infrastructure. What I do not state here is the often stated determination of India and its intolerance to terror,” Lt Gen Ghai said in a press conference here.

Here’s The Complete Press Briefing:

“Those strikes across those nine terror hubs left more than 100 terrorists killed, including high-value targets such as Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf and Mudasir Ahmed, who were involved in the hijack of IC814 and the Pulwama blast,” the DGMO added. He also pointed out that the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Navy played a key role in Operation Sindoor.

“Some of the air fields and dumps saw repeated attacks in waves from the air. All were thwarted. The Pakistan Army has reported to have lost approximately 35 to 40 personnel in artillery and small arms firing on the Line of Control between 7th and 10th May…,” Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said.

“The line of control was also violated soon after by Pakistan, and the erratic and rattled response of our enemy was apparent from the number of civilians, inhabited villages and religious sites such as Gurudwaras that were unfortunately hit by them, leading to a sad loss of lives. The Indian Air Force played a major part in these strikes by engaging some of these camps, and the Indian Navy provided wherewithal in terms of precision munitions. The Indian Air Force had their assets up in the sky,” he added.

Terror Camps Destroyed By India:

Meanwhile, Air Marshal Bhati said that an unspecified number of Pakistani fighter jets were downed during the recent conflict with Pakistan. While responding to a question of how many Pakistani planes were shot down, Air Marshal AK Bharti stated that the Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully downed several Pakistani aircraft during Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory mission launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

However, the IAF officer did not disclose the exact number of Pakistani planes which were shot down during the conflict.  He said that technical details would be accessed to find the exact number.

Air Marshal Bharti also stated that Pakistani planes were prevented from entering the Indian airspace.

“Their planes were prevented from entering inside our border. Definitely, we have downed a few planes.” Air Marshal Bharti stated. He further added that all the Pakistani planes which were downed were “high tech”.

Operation Sindoor, which lasted approximately 25 minutes, involved precision strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan and PoK to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
