The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday undertook live test-firing of a BrahMos missile from a Su30 MkI. The test-firing was conducted on the Eastern seaboard. The missile achieved a direct hit on the target, a decommissioned Indian Navy ship.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari took over as The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) at a ceremony at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan) on Thursday. An alumnus of NDA, the CAS was commissioned in December 1982 in the fighter stream of the IAF. He has flown more than 3800 hours on multiple fighter and trainer aircraft.

IAF To Acquire 24 Second Hand Mirage 2000 Fighter Jets: Report
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to procure Dassault Aviation’s 24 second-hand Mirage 2000 fighters to strengthen its ageing fleet of fourth-generation fighters, reported Hindustan Times. The IAF will also reportedly acquire parts for its two existing Mirage 2000 squadrons. A contract worth 27 million euros has been initiated by the force.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Squadron Leader Abhinav Chaudhary was killed in an Mig-21 BISON aircraft crash on Thursday night. The accident took place Punjab’s Moga district. A Court of Inquiry (CoI) has been ordered to investigate the crash. The aircraft was on a routine training sortie when the accident occurred.

The Indian Air Force is participating for the first time in Exercise Desert Flag-VI. Air forces of United Arab Emirates, United States of America, France, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Bahrain are also participating in the desert. The exercise is scheduled from March 3, 2021 to March 27, 2021 at Al-Dhafra airbase of the UAE.
