The Indian Military Academy celebrated its 89th Raising Day on 01 Oct 2021. On this momentous occasion, Lt Gen Harinder Singh, Commandant, Indian Military Academy, conveyed his appreciation to the IMA fraternity for their dedication and contribution towards transforming the Academy into a world class military institution.
Minister of State For Defence Ajay Bhatt on visited Indian Military Academy, Dehradun on September 2 and 3, 2021. The Minister interacted with Commandant, Indian Military Academy (IMA) and the Gentlemen Cadets undergoing pre-commission training at the academy in Dehradun.
Major General Alok Joshi on Thursday assumed the charge of Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of the Indian Military Academy (IMA). During a simple and solemn ceremony held at the IMA, out going Deputy Commandant Major General Jagjit Singh Mangat handed over the baton to Maj Gen Joshi.
Maximum number of 66 officers were commissioned into the Indian Army from Uttar Pradesh, followed by 38 from Haryana. Among GCs from friendly foreign countries, highest number of 43 cadets were from Afghanistan, followed by 18 from Bhutan.
The Passing Out Parade for 148 Regular Course and 131 Technical Graduate Course was held at the Indian Military Academy (IMA). A total of 425 Gentlemen Cadets of , including 84 Gentlemen Cadets from nine friendly foreign countries successfully passed out from the portals of the IMA, overcoming all challenges of COVID-19. The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General RP Singh, GOC-in-C, HQ Western Command.
The Indian Military Academy’s (IMA) passing out parade for the spring term 2021 will take place on June 12, 2021. The IMA POP spring term 2021 will be held at Chetwode Drill Square. The parade will be reviewed by Lieutenant General RP Singh, GOC-in-C, HQ Western Command. The historic Chetwode Drill Square played host to the Commandant’s Parade for Spring Term 2021 on June 10. The Commandant’s Parade marked the culmination of training of 341 Indian and 84 Gentlemen Cadets from nine friendly foreign countries. Owing to the COVID-19 precautionary guidelines, only the IMA staff and other the trainees witnessed the impressive Parade.
In a series of events that Indian Military Academy, Dehradun has been organising towards all round personality development of the Gentleman Cadets, the Singing Cowboy of India, Bobby Cash delivered a mesmerising performance.
As part of a series of varied programs, performance and talks structured to motivate and inspire these young minds, a talk was organised at Khetarpal Auditorium of the Academy by Commander Abhilash Tomy, Kirti Chakra, Nausena Medal (Retired). The eminent speaker has the distinction of non stop, solo sailing across 65,000 nautical miles.
The POP at IMA is a spectacular event showcasing the training imparted to the further military leaders. As a build up to the Parade, a splendid “Son-et-Lumiere” show, based on the theme “Indian Military Academy Through the Ages” was held on December 11 which took the audience on a nostalgic journey of the Academy from its inception in 1932 to its present status.
