Ahead of the 22nd Anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, “Dhruva Kargil Ride” was organised from Udhampur to Drass by the Indian Army on Thursday to commemorate gallant actions of Kargil War heroes. The Dhruva Kargil Ride was flagged off by Kargil War hero, Subedar Sanjay Kumar, PVC. GOC-in-C, Northern Command, The bike rally was led by Lt Gen YK Joshi was also [resent at the event. It comprises 25 riders.
General MM Naravane, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) is on a two-day visit to Kashmir to review the prevailing security situation in the UT. Kargil War hero Lieutenant General Yogesh Kumar Joshi on Thursday was appointed as the new Northern Army Commander. Lt Gen Joshi will succeed Lt Gen Ranbir Sing, whois superannuating on January 31. Lt Gen Joshi is currently serving as the Chief of Staff of the Northern Command and will take charge as the Northern Army Commander on February 1.
