The Indian Army observed the 22nd martyrdom day of the 1999 Kargil War hero Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra. To commemorate the “Balidan Dias” of Captain Batra, Lt Gen YK Joshi, the Commander of the Northern Command, flew over Batra Top in Sukhoi 30 MKI and paid tribute to his comrade.
Shershaah, the movie based on the life of Kargil War Hero and Param Vir Chakra winner Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra, will hit theatres on July 2, 2021. Siddharth Malhotra will portray the role of Captain Vikram Batra. The announcement regarding the release date was made by Siddhartha Malhotra on his Twitter handle. Kaira Advani will essay the the role of Dimple Cheema, Captain Batra’s girlfriend.

He came back but rapped in the Tricolor. Shaheed Captain Batra had become a household name in India during the Kargil War. The young and jovial officer of the Indian Army, also code named as “Shershaah” during the Kargil War 1999 attained martyrdom while fighting for his motherland on July 1999.
Vishal Batra, twin brother of Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra on Sunday paid tribute to the hero of the Kargil War on his 20th Death anniversary at 16,000-foot-high Batra Top. Commander of 14 Corps of the Indian Army Lt Gen Yogesh Joshi and soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles and 18 Grenadiers accompanies Vishal to the top of the peak.
