Naik Buta Singh Martyred While Serving at 2nd Highest Post in Sikkim, Air India Staff, Passengers Stand Up to Honour Indian Army Soldier, Watch Video

In a heart touching incident, Air India cabin crew and passengers paid homage to the fallen hero of the Indian Army, Naik Buta Singh who made a supreme sacrifice while serving at a high altitude area in North Sikkim. When the Captain of Air India announced the carriage of his mortal remains, all the passengers of the aircraft stood up and paid homage to the brave heart. The video of the entire incident is doing rounds on social media.

Singh lost his life last week due to the heavy snowfall in Sikkim. He was posted in artillery regiment which is currently posted in Sikkim. His body was recovered almost five days after he went missing last week. Singh was deployed at the second highest post of the world at an altitude of 19,088 feet. The brave heart belonged to Buraj Hari Singh village in Punjab’s Ludhiana district. He is survived by his wife, nine-year-old daughter and parents. All the ranks of his regiment paid tribute to the brave soldier.

    My brave soldier Naik Buta Singh made the supreme sacrifice by laying down his life while serving at High Altitude Area in North Sikkim at an altitude of 19,088 feet for the safety and security of our Nation..

    My chest is swollen with superlative pride n honour to be the Commanding Officer of such a braveheart and also seeing the Captain of Air India announcing the carriage of his mortal remains with all passengers standing up and paying homage as a grateful nation..

    Thank You Dear Buta for bringing this pride to me and my team..
