Amid border dispute between India and China several fake news are going viral about the situation at the Line of Control (LAC). One such media report claimed that situation worsened at the LAC as the fresh clashes were reported between the Indian and the Chinese armies on Friday night at Pangong Tso area. The PIB Fact check debunked the media report published by News24online.

The situation in eastern Ladakh deteriorated after around 250 Chinese and Indian soldiers were engaged in a violent face-off on the evening of May 5 .Over 100 Indian and Chinese soldiers were injured in the violence. The incident in Pangong Tso was followed by a similar incident in north Sikkim on May 9.
On the intervening night of June 15 and 16, 20 Indian Army soldiers were martyred during violent clashes which erupted along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. People’s Liberation Army of China reportedly suffered 43 casualties. However, there is no official confirmation on the fatalities suffered by the Chinese Army.
According to a report published in The Hindu, the south bank of the Pangong Tso (lake) where Indian and Chinese troops are currently engaged in a face-off, witnessed the firing twice in a week — on August 30 and September 7. The first incident when a few rounds were fired in the air was reported on August 30 from the same area, reported the media house quoting an official as saying. Notably, on September 7, China accused Indian Army troops of firing warning shots on PLA soldiers.
