India on Wednesday successfully test-fired BrahMos surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile. The missile was test fired at around 10:30 am from indigenous Booster and Airframe Section along with many other ‘Made in India’ sub-systems. Extended range BrahMos blasted off from ITR, Balasore in Odisha. It is one more major step in enhancing the indigenous content. The extended range BrahMos has more than 400-km range.
The BrahMos Land-Attack Cruise Missile (LACM) was cruising at a top speed of Mach 2.8. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated all the personnel of DRDO and team BrahMos for the spectacular mission.
