OTA Gaya POP Autumn Term 2020: 22 GCs Commissioned Into Indian Army, 15 Into Assam Rifles (View Pics)

The Officers’ Training Academy wore a spectacular look with traditional military regalia and splendour. The occasion was the 18th Passing Out Parade of 22 officers of Special Commissioned Officers’ Course (SCO)-45. The SCO Course also included 15 Gentlemen Cadets who were commissioned as officers into the Assam Rifles. 98 Gentlemen Cadets of TES-42 Course proceeded to various Army Cadet Training Wings to pursue a degree in Engineering at Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Secunderabad, Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow and College of Military Engineering, Pune.

The Gentlemen Cadets enthralled everyone with their elegant and synchronised drill movements. Lieutenant General Sunil Srivastava, Commandant, Officers’ Training Academy Gaya was the Reviewing Officer of the parade.  The Silver Medal for standing first in the order of merit amongst the passing out Special Commissioned Officers’ Course was awarded to Senior Under Officer N Tomba Singh. Gurez Company was awarded the Chief Of Army Staff Banner for Autumn Term 2020 for Best Overall Performance as a company. Addressing the parade, the General Officer congratulated the Gentlemen Cadets for their excellent drill. Lieutenant General Sunil Srivastava urged the future officers to make their Nation and their Alma Mater proud by rendering selfless and honourable service. He emphasised the importance of being scholar warriors, spearheading innovative responses to myriad challenges on the battlefield so as to outthink and outperform the adversaries.

Congratulating the proud parents who were witnessing the event via live streaming, Lieutenant General Sunil Srivastava said that they were amongst the lucky few whose sons will get the opportunity to serve in the Armed Forces which stand amongst the best in the world.

OTA, Gaya was raised on 18 July 2011 with the motto of ‘Shaurya Gyan Sankalp’ (Courage, Knowledge and Resolve). Presently, the Academy conducts training for Technical Entry Scheme (TES) and Special Commissioned Officer (SCO) entries. The Cadets belonging to TES course join the Academy after completing their intermediate exams. SCO cadets are selected from the ranks.
