The much-awaited trailer of Ajay Devgn’s movie “Bhuj: The Pride Of India” was released on Monday, i.e. July 12. The movie, directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, is based on the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The lead role of Squadron Leader Vijay Kumar Karnik is played by Ajay Devgn. Sanjay Dutt, Sunakshi Sinha, Ammy Virk and Nora Fatehi are other stars in the movie. The movie will be released on the OTT platform Disney Hotstar on August 13.
The film is inspired by a real incident during the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. The Indo-Pak war was fought on two fronts against Pakistan for the liberation of erstwhile East Pakistan (Bangladesh). What Actually Happened in Bhuj During The Indo-Pak war of 1971?
On December 8, the Pakistan Air force (PAF) attacked the IAF airstrip in Bhuj. Pakistani Sabres dropped over 14 napalm bombs were dropped on the IAF airstrip. In the PAF attack, the airstrip was heavily damaged, and the IAF’s fighter jets were unable to take off to carry out an offensive against Pakistan. The Indian Air Force then built the airstrip with the help of 300 villagers of Madhapur in Bhuj. Most of the villagers were women.
Sqn Ldr played an important role in rebuilding the airstrip. “We were fighting a war, and if there had been any casualties of any of these women, it would have been a great loss to the war effort. But I took the decision, and it worked out. I had briefed them where they could take shelter if attacked, and they followed it bravely,” the ex-IAF officer told The Asian Age. As per reports, 50 IAF and 60 Defense Security Corps personnel and 300 villages made sure that the airstrip was rebuilt in time.

In the movie, Sanjay Dutt played the role of Indian Army Scout Ranchordas Pagi. Sonakshi Sinha portrayed the role of an activist Sunderben Jetha Madharparya. Nora Fatehi played the role of a RAW agent Heena Rehman. Meanwhile, Sharad Kelkar and Ammy Virk essayed the roles of Military Officer Ram Karan “RK” Nair and Flight Lieutenant Vikram Singh Baj Jethaaz, respectively. Bhuj: The Pride of India is the debut movie of Pranitha Subhash. The film is packed with action and patriotism.
