Pakistan today claimed that its navy chased away the Indian Naval submarine after it entered its waters on March 4. A Pakistani Navy spokesperson said that they used its specialised skills to ward off the submarine, successfully keeping it from entering Pakistani waters. The spokesperson further added that the Indian submarine was not targeted keeping in view Pakistan’s policy of peace. The Pakistani Navy also released a video allegedly of the Indian submarine. The video, shot from air, shows the mast of a submarine above water. However sources in the Indian Navy rejected the Pakistan’s claims. The navy said that it remain deployed as necessary to protect National Maritime Interests. The Indian Navy further added that over the past several days have witnessed Pakistan indulging in false propaganda and it do not take cognisance of such propaganda. Today’s development came amid the increasing tensions between both the countries following the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camps in Pakistan’s Balakot to avenge the February 14 Pulwama attack. JeM claimed responsibility of the attack in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were martyred.
